Sad start to 2015 after Tennessee car wreck leaves 1 dead

For many people, the start of a new year is a time of resolutions, planning and even experiencing new beginnings. Sadly, the family of a victim fatally injured in a car wreck in Tennessee has to deal with his death instead. The accident, which happened on an early morning during the first week of January also left the driver of the second vehicle injured.

It is reported that a four-door sedan and a pickup truck were involved in the accident. The two-vehicle car wreck happened just after 7 a.m., creating havoc for commuters on their way to work. Traffic was jammed in both directions.

Details regarding the cause of the accident were not immediately available. It is known that one person had to be extracted from the pickup truck by the responding emergency personnel.  Information regarding how seriously the surviving victim was injured was also not immediately available. The accident is under investigation by Tennessee authorities. Should the investigation prove that one of the two drivers acted negligently, the other party will have the option to file a civil claim against the alleged negligent driver.
