1 of Tennessee’s terrible car accidents claims 4-year-old
Recently, rescue workers in Tennessee had to respond to a massive accident involving ten vehicles, which tragically resulted in the death of a young boy. A bystander, whose nephew and sister were injured in the accident, later described a chaotic scene with damaged cars all over the street. According to her, the rear end of one of the cars was completely caved in. This accident demonstrates just how devastating severe car accidents in Tennessee can be.
One male succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision, while six people had to be taken to a hospital. The crash left an injured 4-year-old victim in critical condition and he was rushed to a nearby medical center. At the time of the accident, he was seated in the safety seat in the back of his mother’s car. Three days later he was declared brain dead by doctors. Sadly, he passed away on Easter Sunday.
A family member said that the family is strengthened by their faith and prayers. They will always cherish the memories they have of the last four years. According to the deceased boy’s father, visiting from out of state, knowing that their boy is in heaven is a happy thought among the sadness.
In the case of an accident of this magnitude, it may take some time before everything is pieced together. However, should there be any indication that any of the parties acted negligently, the family of the two deceased victims and any seriously injured party may elect to file a civil personal injury claim. In Tennessee, seriously injured victims of car accidents have the choice to file a civil claim for damages arising from the accident, while the legal estate of a deceased victim may choose to file a wrongful death claim. Successfully litigated personal injury civil claims provide for the reimbursement for some monetary damages, such as medical bills, funeral and burial costs.
