Tennessee car wreck involving 2 cars leaves 3 injured
Although Tennessee residents understand the risk of being on the road, no one ever anticipates being involved in a car accident. However, accidents happen every day, and anyone can be a victim. In some cases, the lives of car accident victims are drastically changed following a collision. In one recent Tennessee car wreck, this may be the case for three people who were injured.
Reportedly, a 32-year-old woman drove her car through an intersection and struck a truck. The 59-year-old operator of the truck, as well as the woman, both said that it was a green traffic light in their favor when they went through the intersection. The truck driver admitted to seeing the vehicle in the intersection, but he claims he did not have the time to stop and was unable to dodge the vehicle. He told police that, when his vehicle stopped, he looked in his rearview mirror just as the light was changing from green to yellow.
The woman had two passengers in the car with her, and all three of them were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment for the injuries sustained from the collision. At this time, there is no information available regarding the extent of the injuries or their current condition. Furthermore, an investigation will have to be launched into the exact cause of the accident.
In Tennessee, victims of car accidents who have suffered serious injuries due to the negligence of another party may be able to institute a personal injury claim. Those injured in this car wreck may elect to do just that once the investigation has concluded and the person deemed to have been at fault has been determined. A criminal court can apply criminal charges, if appropriate, but if the victims are able to prove that their injuries are a result of the at-fault driver’s negligence, a personal injury claim in civil court may help them in seeking monetary reimbursement to assist with accident-related financial ramifications.
