Tennessee car accident causes personal injury to 13
A horrific weekend crash has resulted in 13 injuries in Tennessee. According to authorities, the car accident involved a minivan, a car and another vehicle. The cause of the personal injury accident is still unclear. Authorities believe that the minivan, which was traveling on Highway 96, clipped another vehicle before colliding head-on with a car.
The minivan was occupied by a total of 11 people including two adults, seven 16-year-old girls, a 1-year-old and 2-year-old. All nine young people were taken to the hospital, but their medical conditions were not reported. It is unclear how many seats were in the minivan, and authorities believe that those in the minivan were not wearing proper safety restraints.
The two individuals in the car that was struck head-on were seriously injured, and were listed in critical condition following the accident. It is unclear whether the driver of the car was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Additionally, the two adults in the minivan were not wearing seat belts, and were said to be in critical condition. Authorities have not identified the individuals involved in the accident.
Any car accident can lead to serious personal injury when proper safety restraints are not used. In this accident case, it is unclear what exactly caused the crash. However, what is clear is that many lives have been affected. In the aftermath of a serious car accident, the injured parties and their families must deal with many issues.
Along with the physical aspects of recovery, the financial impact of a car accident can be devastating for Tennessee families. Fortunately, there are laws in place to help protect car accident victims and their families. Our state’s personal injury laws allow those injured in a car accident due to the negligence of another party the ability to seek damages against such parties for their injuries and financial losses. Common losses following a car accident include lost wages, medical and recovery expenses and pain and suffering. Successfully litigated personal injury claims can help alleviate the damage that these losses can cause.
