Car accident results in both injury and fatality in Tennessee

A car accident that took place in Springfield, Tennessee, last month, left one man injured and one man dead. Police have confirmed that around 3:45 pm on Sunday, June 20, members of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the scene of an auto accident. It was then they found that a 53-year-old Adairville man had been injured and a 58-year-old Springfield man traveling in the other vehicle was dead.

Officials from the sheriff’s office told reporters that the 58-year-old Springfield man had been heading southbound on Main Street when he appeared to have lost control of his vehicle and moved into the northbound lane of traffic. The driver then struck a 2001 Dodge pickup that was being driven by the Adairville man. When emergency responders arrived on the scene, they found both drivers trapped inside their vehicles and initiated measures to rescue them.

The injured driver of the pickup truck that was struck by the southbound vehicle was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition. Sadly, the driver whose vehicle appeared to have instigated the car accident was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly following the crash.

Tennessee officers are continuing their investigation of the cause of the fatal accident.

The gentleman injured in the crash, may soon find he is being faced with mounting medical bills and well as lost wages. The family of the deceased driver undoubtedly is probably now facing their own financial burdens as well. There are many resources available to individuals and their families involved in auto accidents. Seeking the advice of a legal professional may be a helpful first step to finding resolution to any unanswered questions.
