EEOICPA Claims for Exposed Workers at Savannah River Site (SRS)
Sick workers from SRS may qualify for EEOICPA and workers’ compensation benefits. From 1950 until the late 1980s, the Savannah River Site (SRS) conducted multiple operations that played a vital role in the U.S. nuclear weapons complex. Of greatest importance were the production of plutonium and tritium. Many facilities were built at SRS to support these production efforts and to address their resulting environmental impacts.
The federal government acknowledges that there were more than 2100 toxic substances at the SRS including confirmation of Asbestos in 168 buildings and Beryllium in 75 buildings.
Former workers at SRS are thought to have experienced exposures to a wide variety of toxic materials as well as ionizing radiation, at levels that would place them at increased risk or at high risk to occupational disease and cancers
The Law Offices of Tony Farmer and John Dreiser, located in Knoxville, Tennessee, in association with the Energy Workers Legal Resource Center, located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and the Hodge-Langley Law Firm, located in Spartanburg, South Carolina are assisting former and current SRS workers, and survivors, who may have been exposed to dangerous toxic substances in the course of their work. Former SRS workers or their survivors may qualify for U.S. Department of Labor Energy, Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) benefits and State Workers’ Compensation benefits.
- If you are a current or former worker or survivor, you may qualify for $150,000 or more in EEOICPA benefits because of a diagnosis of beryllium disease or cancer.
- If you are a current or former worker or survivor, with a diagnosis of mesothelioma, asbestosis, occupational cancers, or other work related conditions, you may qualify for compensation from the EEOICPA.
