Fatal car wreck also leaves Good Samaritan injured

A tragic accident left one person dead and a good Samaritan injured. The Tennessee car wreck happened on a recent Thursday night on March 12 at approximately 9:45 p.m. The circumstances surrounding the accident can only be described as tragic.

According to reports, the 29-year-old deceased victim was experiencing car trouble and pulled off the road. A 23-year-old driver stopped to assist. Both the drivers were apparently outside their cars near the road when a vehicle operated by a 20-year-old smashed into them from behind.

The 29-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The other two drivers were both taken to hospitals in the area. The driver who stopped to help had to undergo surgery after the accident and was still hospitalized on the day following the accident.

Little information was initially available about the specific cause of the accident. An investigation by Tennessee authorities has not yet been completed. It remains to be seen if criminal charges will be filed once the investigation has been completed.

The seriously injured good Samaritan may choose to file a personal injury claim, while the family of the deceased victim may elect to pursue a wrongful death claim against the driver and any separate owner of the vehicle that struck the victims. Those seriously injured in car accidents in Tennessee, and the families of deceased victims, may elect to file civil claims for damages sustained should the evidence demonstrate that negligence was the root cause of a car wreck. Any damages awarded to the victims of a car wreck, or their families, from a successfully presented claim may help ease the financial suffering during a time when they are already struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.
