Tennessee accident victims protected by personal injury laws

A young man has lost his life following a tragic head-on collision on a Tennessee roadway. The accident occurred near the intersection of Highways 25 and 231 in Trousdale County. In addition to the fatality, three other individuals sustained personal injury in this accident.

Tennessee Highway Patrol officials state that the 21-year-old man was traveling northbound on Highway 231. For reasons not yet known, his vehicle and another traveling southbound collided head-on. Following this collision, a third vehicle collided with the young man’s pickup truck.

The young man was not wearing a seat belt, and was killed in the accident. The status of the three other individuals injured was not reported immediately following the accident. Officials state that it is not yet clear which vehicle crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic, causing the collision. They do not believe that intoxication was a factor in this fatal accident.

Suffering a personal injury in an accident can be devastating as the survivors manage hospital expenses and unknown recovery times. For these individuals, discovering who is responsible for their injuries may be an important factor to their overall recovery. Tennessee has personal injury laws in place, which allow injured parties to seek compensation for their financial and physical suffering. In addition, the family of the man killed may also find relief through a wrongful death claim. Though there is no true compensation for injuries or death, even a small amount of relief may help the survivors and the bereaved family focus on moving on from their tragedy.
