Tennessee car wreck kills 2, leaves only 1 survivor

A Tennessee woman cannot remember anything about a multi-vehicle accident that left two people dead. The car wreck happened on an early December evening. The injured driver said that she picked up her 20-year-old boyfriend at a local fast food restaurant, and they were on their way to his family home. The injured 23-year-old woman only remembers waking up inside an ambulance while being transported to a hospital in the area.

Tennessee authorities reported that the 64-year-old female driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision crossed into the lane in which the young driver and her boyfriend were traveling. The cars collided head on. The impact of the collision caused the car with the young driver and her boyfriend to crash into a third car.

Both the 64-year-old driver and the boyfriend of the young woman were killed in the accident. The injured driver has since been released from the hospital, but has to wear a neck brace. According to authorities, it is a miracle that she lived. The blood of both drivers has been sent for drug and alcohol testing, but the results are not expected to be released for two-to-three months.

If the surviving victims, or the families of the deceased victims, feel that negligence played a role in the accident, they have right to file personal injury and wrongful death claims against the party they feel acted negligently. Under Tennessee law, they will have to prove the negligence before being awarded compensation. If their claim is found be valid and compensation is awarded, they may find that it eases the financial burdens caused by the tragic car wreck.
