Tennessee family involved in car wreck, 1 dead, 2 injured
Lives can be lost in the blink of an eye on Tennessee roads. When a loved one is killed in a car wreck, the emotional and financial impact on the surviving family members can last for a long time. Alcoa police recently reported on an accident that claimed the life of one person and sent two of his family members to the hospital.
The accident is still under investigation, but a preliminary report says the crash happened on a recent Saturday afternoon. The report indicates that a 34-year-old driver of an SUV crossed over into the lanes of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a sedan carrying three occupants. The 48-year-old driver of the sedan died at the accident scene.
Also in the sedan were a 47-year-old woman and another 23-year-old passenger, both bearing the same last name as the deceased driver. They were both seriously injured and were airlifted by Lifestar to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The SUV driver suffered minor injuries, and he was transported to another hospital by some of the officers on the scene. While his injuries were treated, a toxicology screening was carried out.
This Tennessee family will have to face high medical expenses at the same time as having to cope with the loss of their loved one. While financial relief may be pursued, the family may choose to retain the services of an experienced personal injury and wrongful death attorney to handle their respective claims. This will allow them to grieve and address family matters free of the emotional strain and distraction of lawsuits. If negligence on the part of the other driver can be established, a civil court may enter monetary judgments in the recovery of documented financial and emotional losses brought about by the car wreck.
